Meeting –
Present: Lynda
Blakistone, Ruth Freeman, Marty Jeffers, Nancy Marlette, Kaysa Pierce, Nicole
Royal, Mike Schliessmann, Steve Schubert, Melody Valadez, Suzy Valadez, and
Nancy Wesson. Sue Byrne was present as
the ex-officio member from the Wimberley Village Library Board of Trustees. Carolyn Manning was present to represent the
library.
The meeting was called to order at
The February minutes were changed and
approved as changed.
Mike Schliessman nominated Dennis Lee
to take Mary Tucker’s place on the board.
Nicole Royal seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s
Report:
Ruth Freeman (treasurer) reported that the current balance was $3,470.67.

Book
Volunteer
Committee:
Kaysa Pierce (chair) reported that the volunteer luncheon would take place on
May 3 at the
Youth
Committee:
Nicole Royal (chair) reported that the literary contest entries were due at the
end of the month, and that there were no entries. There was discussion about better publicity
for the contest. Nicole also announced
that the toddler time in April would be done by Stretch ‘N’ Grow.
There was discussion about future
nominations.
There was discussion about how to give
Moselle Walker the plaque that was made for her. It was decided to wait until she visits to
give it to her.
It was announced that the info brunches
need volunteers to help. The dates are
March 24 and April 28, as well as a presentation on April 21. Kaysa Pierce and Nicole Royal volunteered to
help on March 24. Nancy Marlette and Lynda
Blakistone volunteered to help on April 28.

Committee:
Marty Jeffers announced that book sale signs were being made, and a banner for
the sale to put over the road had been ordered.

Membership Meeting: The meeting will take on April 19 at

Murder in the
There was discussion about how the
Friends of the Wimberley Village Library would go about this and the many
options that there were to provide money.
It was estimated that securing a venue at the community center and
arranging a book signing would cost the Friends between $200-$300.
There was much discussion about sponsoring
a book signing and whether the Friends should do it at the library or the
community center, and an informal vote was taken. Suzy Valadez moved that the Friends not
participate at all, but that Anita should ask SuzAnne Beard and Carolyn Manning
if she wanted to have the book signing at the library. Nicole Royal amended the motion by saying
that the author should have to go through all the same channels as all the
other authors. Mike Schliessmann
seconded the motion, and it passed.
There was one vote that abstained, and one negative vote.
